What I've learned playing there

Curzon Hall is a big venue and big venues require big sound done properly. I make sure my rig is scaled to the room — full, clear coverage without overpowering the natural acoustics of those heritage spaces. The Grand Banquet Ballroom in particular has a grandeur that rewards a considered approach to volume and mix.

The coordination team at Curzon Hall are experienced and professional. Everything runs to a tight timeline here which I appreciate — when the venue runs well, the DJ can focus entirely on the crowd.

Music considerations

Curzon Hall attracts a diverse range of couples and cultures which I genuinely love. Some of my most memorable multicultural wedding receptions have been in this room. I come prepared with a broad palette — from Western pop and dance floor classics through to specific cultural music requests — and I read the room constantly throughout the night.
